From the airport to the university

• Ticket: One-way ticket for zones M-5 (€13.60) or the Deutschland-Ticket.
• In the airport, follow the signs to the S-Bahn (suburban railway) station and take either the S1 or the S8 line. Both lines are a circle line, so each will take you to the city centre. Take the S1 for 16 stops or the S8 for 12 stops until you arrive at the station Marienplatz.
• From there, take the escalator down to the underground station (U-Bahn, indicated by a white letter U on a blue square). Take the U3 towards Olympiaeinkaufszentrum / Moosach or the U6 towards Münchner Freiheit/Garching-Forschungszentrum for two stops until you arrive at the station Universität.
• After alighting, walk in the direction the train came from and follow the signs to Schellingstraße. Take the stairs on the right, and when you emerge above ground, you will be looking directly at the Philologicum (Ludwigstraße 25). To get to Schellingstraße 3, take the street on the right, and it will be the first building on your left.

From Munich Central Station to the university

• Ticket: single adult ticket for Zone M (€3.90) or the Deutschland-Ticket.
• Go to the underground station near platform 11, take the escalator down to the U4 towards Arabellapark or U5 towards Neuperlach Süd and alight two stops later at Odeonsplatz.
• Alight here and walk in the direction the train was heading in. Take the stairs to the U3 and U6 underground lines. Take the U3 towards Olympiaeinkaufszentrum / Moosach or the U6 towards Münchner Freiheit/Garching-Forschungszentrum and get off at the next stop, Universität.
• After alighting, walk in the direction the train came from and follow the signs to Schellingstraße. Take the stairs on the right, and when you emerge above ground, you will be looking directly at the Philologicum (Ludwigstraße 25). To get to Schellingstraße 3, take the street on the right, and it will be the first building on your left.
