Forschungsinteressen - Research Interests
Ich arbeite derzeit an / I'm currently working on the emergence of a New Speaker accent in Occitan (part 1 of 3 of my Habilitation project). This includes
1) an acoustic analysis of
- schwa realisation rates and schwa quality in Southern French;
- the mid-vowel allophony (Loi de position) in Southern French;
- the realisation of nasal vowels in Southern French
as well as a sociolinguistic analysis of the acquisition paths and transmission patterns of New Speakers of Occitan.
Meine Forschungsinteressen beinhalten / My research interests include
- sound change theories and the emergence of new varieties of speech
- variability in speech production and perception
- the relationship between the individual and the speech community in sound change
- types of sound changes involving /r/ and /l/
- sociolinguistic aspects of the Occitan language community
- accents in Southern France
